Even though it’s been a few months now, we’re sure that Monkees fans will recall that Rhino recently released THE MONKEES LIVE – THE MIKE & MICKY SHOW, the live album recorded by Mike Nesmith and Micky Dolenz on their 2019 tour. In case you missed the memo, it’s a 25-track document of the tour, and it’s pretty fantastic.

Okay, yes, we know that we’d originally assured vinyl junkies that the 2-LP vinyl version of this release was being released on May 15, but what can we tell you? Frankly, we’re just going to blame it on the pandemic, because that’s as good an excuse in 2020 as anything, but let’s not dwell on the reason why it was delayed when we can instead focus on the fact that it’s finally here!

THE MONKEES LIVE – THE MIKE & MICKY SHOW offers a set list that spans the Monkees’ 50+ year career, and it’s produced by Monkees archivist Andrew Sandoval and mixed by Christian Nesmith, resulting a great sonic souvenir of these two old chums sharing the stage again.
