The long-awaited Led Zeppelin documentary is almost here. Becoming Led Zeppelin is the title of a new doc from American Epic director, Bernard MacMahon. First announced back in 2019, the movie comes with the ultimate endorsement: Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Robert Plant all participated in the making of the movie.

"Becoming Led Zeppelin is a film that no one thought could be made,” MacMahon told Variety. "The band's meteoric rise to stardom was swift and virtually undocumented. Through an intense search across the globe and years of restoration of the visual and audio archive found, this story is finally able to be told."

The film features never-before-seen vintage film and photos, as well as rare archival interviews with the late John Bonham, who died in 1980. Plant, Page and Jones all contribute new interviews.

"When I saw everything Bernard had done both visually and sonically on the remarkable achievement that is American Epic, I knew he would be qualified to tell our story," Page said when the film was first announced.

UPDATE: Becoming Led Zeppelin will debut at this year's Venice International Film Festival in Venice, Italy. The festival runs September 1-11.
