Stream It: Linda Ronstadt, “You’re No Good”

Given how many LPs Linda Ronstadt has released during the course of her career – we’re looking at a figure that tops the two-dozen mark, people – it might surprise you to learn that she’s never released a live album in that time, but that situation is finally going to change this Friday.

Say hello to LIVE IN HOLLYWOOD, which is being released digitally as well as on both CD and vinyl, was recorded on April 24, 1980 at Hollywood’s Television Center Studios. While the album doesn’t contain every number performed by Ronstadt that night, it does feature a dozen songs, all of which were cherry-picked by Ms. Ronstadt for inclusion. She’s backed by a top-notch crew of musicians for the performance, among them guitarists Kenny Edwards and Danny Kortchmar, drummer Russ Kunkel, bassist Bob Glaub, keyboardist Billy Payne of Little Feat, pedal steel guitarist Dan Dugmore, backing vocalist Wendy Waldman, and Ronstadt’s longtime producer Peter Asher on percussion and backing vocals.
