Jackson Browne RUNNING ON EMPTY Album Cover

As you may have noticed, we’ve been teasing the impending reissue of Jackson Browne’s classic 1978 album RUNNING ON EMPTY, and if you think we’re done with the teasing, then you must not realize that the newly-remastered version of the album doesn’t come out until July 12 here in the States, August 16th internationally. With that much time left until it hits the shelves of your friendly neighborhood record store, of course we’re going to tease it some more!

Your latest sampling of how great this new remaster of the album sounds is actually a two-fer: “The Load-Out,” which – as ever – remains coupled with a cover of “Stay,” originally by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. This version, of course, features not only Browne but also Rosemary Butler and David Lindley, and it’s an amazing performance that sounds better than ever.

This new version of RUNNING ON EMPTY will be available on CD, 180-gram vinyl, and through your usual digital download and streaming services, and for a reminder of its contents, you need only look below!
