On January 8, 1968, the Memphis-based Stax Records released Otis Redding's "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay." The single topped the charts in both the U.S. and U.K. but its triumph was bittersweet. Redding recorded the song with guitarist Steve Cropper just days before his death in a plane crash. Posthumously, "(Sittin On) The Dock Of The Bay" would bring Redding the greatest success of his career, selling million of copies worldwide and winning 2 Grammy Awards for Best R&B Song and Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. 45 years later, we celebrate with the release of official High Definition video on YouTube.
